Elena Carletti: A New Full Professor to the Department of Finance
From October 1st Elena Carletti enters Bocconi's Department of Finance as a Full Professor, leaving the same position, held since 2008, at the European University Institute in Florence. Previously, she was an Associate Professor at Frankfurt's Goethe Universitaet.
A graduate from Università Bocconi, she has also obtained a Master in Economics from Bocconi and a PhD from the London School of Economics. Elena Carletti has been deeply involved in research activities for the main international research centers - from London's CEPR to TILEC in Tilburg, from the Center for Financial Studies in Frankfurt, to CESifo in Munich and to the Wharton Financial Institutions Center in Philadelphia.
She presents her research regularly at top international conferences worldwide; her studies focus on financial intermediation, financial crises, corporate governance, industrial organization and competition policy.
She has published numerous articles in leading economic journals such as Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Economic Theory e Journal of Monetary Economics. She has been also a consultant for the OECD and the World Bank.
