A CERGAS Researcher Wins the EGOS Best Student Paper Award
Giulia Cappellaro, contracted research fellow at Bocconi's Centre for Research on Health and Social Care Management (CERGAS) and PhD candidate at Cambridge Judge Business School, has won the Best Student Paper Award at the 29th EGOS Colloquium (Montreal, Canada, July 4-6, 2013), the conference of the European Group for Organizational Studies.
The prize-winning paper, Individual Level Dynamics and Organizational Responses to Institutional Complexity: An Ethnographic Study in a Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, examines how work practices and social identities recursively interact in an organisation confronting institutional complexity, and how this interaction affects responses at the organisational level. The author has conducted a thorough fieldwork in the form of an ethnographic study of a neurological rehabilitation unit in an Italian hospital.
