The Rector has appointed Damiano Canale, Full Professor of the Philosophy of Law as the new Director of the Angelo Sraffa Department of Law
Damiano Canale, Full Professor of the Philosophy of Law, is the new head of the Angelo Sraffa Department of Law. He was appointed in his new position by Bocconi Rector Guido Tabellini. His term will expire on October 31st.
42 years old, Canale studied at the University of Padua, Würzburg, and at the Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt. He was Visiting Professor at Max-Plank-Institut für Europäische Rechtsgeschichte (Frankfurt am Main) and Senior Research Scholar at the Yale Law School.
Professor Canale's main areas of research are: the theory of juridical interpretation and argumentation, theory of action, methodology in social sciences, history of modern legal and political concepts, law and bioethics.
