Bocconi at the Top for Internationalization, Research and Teaching according to UMultirank

, by Tomaso Eridani
In the third edition of the ranking promoted by the European Commission, Bocconi confirms excellent performances in a series of indicators related to its key areas of activity

High student mobility, presence of international faculty, percentage of works cited over the total number of publications and high quality of activity in the field of spin-offs (thanks to the contribution of the incubator Speed MI Up). These are some of the indicators in which Bocconi has obtained the maximum rating possible in the new edition of the U-Multirank ranking, funded by the European Commission and published today, which compares universities from all around the world.

"Comparing universities through individual indicators, but including all the same all the dimensions of their activities, is correct and especially a useful instrument for those students or possible partners, who have to choose between one university or another," explains Stefano Caselli, Dean for International Affairs at Bocconi. "This initiative of the European Commission does not qualify as a traditional ranking but values all components that allow a university to operate. Precisely for this reason, to be in the top group in particular with regard to internationalization and the quality of research is a confirmation of the quality of work carried out in recent years by Bocconi, in line with the choices outlined in our strategic plan."

U-Multirank, created in 2014, does not produce classifications, but rather it provides a multidimensional and comparative assessments of universities through lists of a wide range of indicators. These indicators are related to various areas, such as teaching, research, internationalization and services, and use data provided by the university and students. The analysis covers approximately 1,300 institutions in 90 different countries. It is funded by the European Commission and is conducted by an independent consortium led by the Centre for Higher Education in Germany and the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies and the Centre for Science & Technology Studies, both in the Netherlands.
