Bocconi Alumni on the Silk Road

, by Andrea Celauro, translated by Alex Foti
The Fourth BAA Global Conference will be held in Shanghai on March 10 and 11. The program revolves around the economic relations between Europe and Asia

Bocconi Alumni will be heading to China to discuss the global economy and the trade relations between Europe, the Middle Kingdom, and the rest of East and Central Asia. Registrations are in fact open for the Fourth Global Conference of the Bocconi Alumni Association (BAA), which will be held in Shanghai on March 10-11. After earlier editions in Singapore, New York and London, the BAA is returning to the East. The aim of these traveling conferences, which the association started in 2013, is to bring BAA administrators and Bocconi faculty in direct contact with alumni around the world: the global conference rotates by hitting Asia, the Americas, and then Europe in every single year.

The year's edition has an intensive two-day program, with a welcome cocktail party, the conference, and a gala dinner, which will take place between Thursday and Friday nights. The conference will be divided into 5 discussion sessions: geoeconomics, finance, innovation, cross-cultural leadership, Eurasian connectivity. There will be university academics, as well as business leaders. Among them there will be Mario Monti, Francesco Giavazzi (Bocconi), Eugenio Morpurgo (CEO of Fineurop Soditic), James Z. Li (CEO of EJ McKay & Co), Robert Grant (Bocconi), Marco Bizzarri (CEO of Gucci), Xionweng Lu (Dean of the School of Management, Fudan University).

Registrations are open until March 8. Starting this year, conference attendants can take advantage of the collaboration with a tourism operator to extend their stay (the so-called post-conference getaways) at competitive prices. The choice between the two travel packages available must be made by January 22.
