AEM Foundation Funds Two Scholarships for the Master in Green Management
Executive education turns green with the Bocconi Master in Green Management, Energy and Corporate social Responsibility (MAGER). The program has recently received the support of the AEM Foundation of the A2A Group, which is funding two scholarships going to two Master students. The Foundation is presided by a Bocconi alumnus, the sociologist Alberto Martinelli: "One of the four pillars of the Foundation's activity is professional education concerning energy, the environment, and sustainable development," he explains. "Supporting students is the best way to strengthen the ties between higher education and the labor market, and in this case the money goes to train people who will develop the skills needed by the energy industry today."
The AEM Foundation of the A2A Group was born in 2007 and operates on various fronts. In addition to supporting professional training, it is active in R&D funding, by collaborating on the WAME project studying universal access to modern energy, which is coordinated by the energy utility A2A, and in environmental education, with schools visiting the Casa dell'Energia (House of Energy) in Milan to explain students how energy is produced, stored, carried and used. Lastly, this institution has the mission of conserving the documentary and photographic archive of the energy company, which provides hints about its history as well as the regions in which it has historically operated. "In this respect", concludes the Foundation's president, "on May 20 during the Expo, there will be a photo exhibit focusing on water and light as energy sources, thus documenting one century of renewable energy".
