Varoufakis Keeps His Promise: He will be at Bocconi to Talk about Politics and Economics
The Eurozone crisis, the case of Greece and Europe's future prospects are the issues that Yanis Varoufakis, former Greek Finance Minister, and Franco Bruni, International and Monetary Economics Professor at Bocconi, will discuss on November 6. The debate, with Danilo Taino from Corriere della Sera as moderator, will be held at 4 pm in the aula Maggiore of via Sarfatti 25.
The event Europe and Greece: a meeting with Yanis Varoufakis is an initiative by the student group Act, in collaboration with the association Economic Society for Bocconi Students, which has among its goals the organization of debates on the themes of society and economics. "We wish to invite someone who's relevant in the current political debate" says Giuseppe Ippedico, who is a member of both Act and of Economic Society. "We contacted Varoufakis last spring and he accepted the invitation but then, because of obvious reasons, he had to stay in Greece, but he promised to come and visit us as soon as possible. And so he'll do", concludes Giuseppe.
The debate will be in English and it is reserved to all Bocconi students, faculty members and employees who have previously registered to the event.
