The Value of Bocconi Graduates for Employers Around the World
Just in time to welcome the 4,555 new enrollees who are starting their experience at Bocconi, the quality of the university's graduates has been acknowledged once again. The QS World University Rankings 2015, published today, move Bocconi up 1 spot to 32nd worldwide in the employer reputation ranking, which measures how recruiters from around the world value the reputation of graduates.
In the rankings by faculty, Bocconi moves up three spots over last year among universities specializing in the area of Social Sciences and Management, placing 22nd worldwide and 5th in Europe.
The ranking, created by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, an international network dedicated to education and the professions, uses the indicators of academic and employer reputations of graduates, citations per faculty, student-to-faculty ratio and the presence of international students and faculty. The employer reputation indicator is based on a survey of over 44,000 recruiters from around the world who are asked to indicate their preferences in terms of where to recruit graduates.
Recruiter appreciation of graduates is also confirmed by the most recent data from Bocconi on employment rates for graduates of the Graduate School: one year after graduation, 94.2% are employed, 25.2% working abroad, and with an average of 1 month and 3 days needed for placement. In 2014, the Career Service handled 8,086 placement and internship offers, 23.5% of which were abroad, and 469 employers participated in recruiting events on- and off-campus, including Bocconi&Jobs which was held abroad in Paris, Mumbai, London and Shanghai.
