Trichet and Global Economic Governance

The ECB President to discuss the new structure of global governance that is emerging out of the economic crisis at The Economy and the Open Society, the international forum organized by Bocconi jointly with Corriere della Sera

More than two years into the global recession, it is still heatedly debated what changes in the rules and institutions governing the global economy systems should be implemented. In order to assess the ongoing policy debate, Jean-Claude Trichet, president of the European Central Bank, will give a speech titled "Reshaping the World: Economic Crisis and Global Governance" in Bocconi's Aula Magna in via Roentgen on April 9.

A special meeting with Trichet that in addition to the 9 conversations about changes in society and the economic recovery that make up the 2010 program of the international forum organized by the Bocconi University and the Corriere della Sera.

President of the European Central Bank since 2003, Trichet has previously served as Director of the French Treasury and Governor of the Bank of France. This is not the first time the head of the ECB takes part in The Economy and the Open Society international forum. As a matter of fact, Trichet presided the inaugural ceremony of the 2008 edition of Economia e Società Aperta at the Milan Stock Exchange.
