Trendee Me for Wardrobe Management
What if, along with "Who are we?" and "Where do we come from?", one of the questions that has bothered you since you can remembers is "What should I wear today?" Then Trendee Me is for you. "It's an application for fashion addicts that keeps your wardrobe organized and creates and saves outfits," says the official definition. The app generates recommendation and suggests clothing combinations, learning the user's behavior.
Marta Rettani, 28 years old, completed her thesis in digital design six years ago, when the technology was not yet fully developed. "I digitalized my wardrobe with a digital camera and I tried making combinations using Photoshop," she says, "but the method took too much time and so I stopped for awhile."
Edoardo Esposito and Francesco Facconi are both 34-year-old engineers who have worked with Marta for several years, recently as partners at Immediatic, a web agency. The three of them thought that a recommendation generator for fashion addicts could be newly relevant with the pervasiveness of smartphones with a built-in camera.
"Before coming to Speed MI Up, we were completely focused on technical aspects: the development process and the objectives to be reached were clear, but not how to transform the prototype into a product. Our idea evolved here," they say.
In particular, their tutor was skeptical about their business model, and realized how the project could reach its full potential, something that had eluded its creators. A prototype now exists and its being tested, but the clients the three entrepreneurs would like to target have changed. The tutor's analysis of the structure of a funding proposal led them to refuse it ("now we understand the difference between funding and good funding") and they were introduced to the world of public competitions, learning where to look for them and how to evaluate them.
