Sziget Festival and Hungarian Pavilion: the Summer of Radio Bocconi

, by Elisa Bazzani
Last weekend, three students of the radio performed at Expo during the two days devoted to Hungarian festivals

As the official media partners of the organizers of Sziget Festival Italia, last Friday and Saturday Radio Bocconi students Gabriela Mandiuc, Giuseppe Musella, Lavinia Siardi and Marco Borrelli entertained the audience at Expo at the Hungarian pavilion (and outside of it too) during the events dedicated to the country's festivals. "Sziget Festival has taken place every August since 1993, on the island of Obuda, near the city centre of Budapest. It is one of the most important music festivals and it has been awarded best European festival twice. Last year more than 400,000 visitors were there!" explains Gabriela, one of the presenters of the Radio Bocconi program Giovanotte, which has collaborated with Sziget Festival Italia on a regular basis for a number of years now, with interviews and ad hoc episodes.

The two days involved interviews, presentations, entertainment and improvised mini contests with the visitors of the pavilion. "We prepared a small introduction to the festival, which was born as a peace and freedom demonstration on the initiative of a group of young artists, and we engaged the audience with a series of contests with questions about the festival and Hungary, venturing outside of the pavilion too. The two days were hectic but really fun, and seeing the Sziget Italia team at work was so inspirational, they are very passionate about their job! Our partnership is surely going to continue", concludes Gabriela.
