On "The Role and Impact of Labour Taxation Policies", on May 30, 9:00, Velodromo, Room N02

Susanna Camusso, Secretary General of CGIL, the main Italian trade union, will be one of the the guests of honour of the round table which will follow the presentation of the results of The Role and Impact of Labour Taxation Policies, a research project conducted by Bocconi's Econpubblica in the framework ofthe European Community Programme for Employment and Social Solidarity - PROGRESS 2007-2013 (May 30, 2011, 9:00-13:30, Room N02, Velodrome piazza Sraffa 13).

The study, focused on the analysis of the role and impact of labour taxation policies in the EU-27 countries plus Croatia, Macedonia, Iceland, Japan, Serbia and the United States in the 1990-2008 period, catalogues 1,331 reforms of personal income taxation and 1,658 reforms of social security contributions and analyses the effects of the reforms which lowered personal income tax or social security contributions.

The report will be presented by Econpubblica's Carlo Devillanova and Paola Profeta, while Carlo Cottarelli, IMF, Asa Johansson, OECD, and Guido Vanderseypen, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, European Commission, will highlight their organizations' main initiatives in the field.

The round table will involve, besides Camusso, Vincenzo Boccia, President for Small and Medium Enterprises, Confindustria, Luigi Casero, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Stefano Fassina, Chair of the Economic Department, Partito Democratico.
