SDA Bocconi, a New Observatory on Solvency II
The European Directive Solvency II, which reforms the regulatory model of the insurance industry and which will be implemented on January 1st 2013, is leading insurance companies to review their internal procedures. To identify the main organizational problems which will be conditioned by the new framework, SDA Bocconi and Capgemini Italia have given light to the Observatory on the operational impact of Solvency II. The objective of the Observatory is to study the impact of the complex regulation on the operative model of the companies and the implications Solvency II will have on the organizational structures.
The formation of a group of experts, from different fields of business, will allow the comparison of the best practices and the identification of the most fitting solutions. In 2011 the Observatory will focus in particular on the impact of Solvency II on the areas of organization, information technology and commercial and communication policies. The results will be published within periodical reports and presented in workshops open to operators of the insurance sector. The group of SDA researchers will operate within the Claudio Dematté Research Division.
