SDA Bocconi, a New Management Lab Dedicated to Multiple Sclerosis

In partnership with Biogen Idec, the project will focus on the themes of management and organization for healthcare professionals involved in the clinical course

A new project to optimize the course of therapy and assistance for patients afflicted with multiple sclerosis. With this intent the Multiple Sclerosis Management Lab (MSMLab)has been created, a project of SDA Bocconi in partnership with Biogen Idec. The aim is to identify best practices so as to face treatment of the illness in an a more systemic manner, taking into consideration all aspects, from the professional to the organization and financial. The initiative will see the involvement of neurologists specialized in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, healthcare managers and hospital pharmacists.

"We have worked on these themes for many years, also together with Biogen Idec, and have decided to gather all the activity together into one platform to promote a better understanding, and competences, of the management and organization logic," explains Federico Lega, SDA Bocconi, who will coordinate the lab together with Valeria Tozzi and Mario Del Vecchio. "There are two important challenges. The first is to organize and rationalize the network of different treatment centers present in Italy. The second is to better organize the clinical course of the patient."
