Recruiters Move Bocconi Up in Ranking
Based on the opinions of 16,785 recruiters from all over the world, Università Bocconi has received an excellent evaluation of its alumni being placed 15th in the world rankings for Employer Reputation for the 2011 World University Rankings, conducted by QS Quacquarelli Symonds. Bocconi moved up six spots over last year's rankings.
Rankings assess evaluations made by companies and other professional settings, in terms of recruiters, on universities and their graduates. Recruiters are asked to indicate which universities they see as best for recruitment. The survey for this year's rankings involved 16,785 companies from all over the world.
In the rankings divided by faculty, however, Bocconi held the 48th position worldwide among universities in social sciences and management that it was recognized with last year. The assessment for these rankings is based on academic reputation, alumni reputation, research paper citations and the presence of international faculty and students.
"Year after year, Bocconi has confirmed itself in the group of leading universities in the social sciences and management. Given the competitiveness of the sector and the increasing presence of new contexts, in particular in the Far East, maintaining a position in the top 50 worldwide and holding last year's position is certainly satisfying," explains Fulvio Ortu, Vice Rector and Dean for International Affairs at Bocconi. "Bocconi's strong connection and appeal in the workplace is continuing to bear fruit. Evidence of this can be seen in its reputation among employers increasing to 15th worldwide, moving up six places over last year."
In July, in the rankings published by QS dedicated to individual subjects, Bocconi placed 26th in the world for finance and accounting and 29th for economics and econometrics.
