Four scholars with links to the University received awards at the Orlando conference

Bocconi scholars studying public administration and healthcare received prestigious acknowledgements at the annual Academy of Management (AOM) Conference (Orlando, Florida, 9-13 August).

Stefano Tasselli, a researcher at Bocconi's CERGAS and a Ph.D. Candidate Cambridge University, and Elio Borgonovi, CERGAS chairman, won the Academy of Management Conference 2013 - Health Care Management Division Best Paper Award with Social Networks and Knowledge Transfer in Health Care, prevailing among hundreds of submissions. It's the first time the award goes to a PhD candidate and the first time it goes to non American scholars.

Emanuele Vendramini, associate professor at Università Cattolica di Piacenza and senior professor at SDA Bocconi, received the acknoledgement of Best Program Chair among the program chairs of the AOM's 24 divisions, "in recognition of truly outstanding leadership and service to the Academy of Management", as the motivation says. Vendramini is program chair at the Public and Non Profit Division. The acknowledgement has gone to non American program chairs only a few times in the past.

The Public and Non Profit Division's William H. Newman Award for the best paper extracted from a doctoral dissertation went to Paolo Esposito, Università del Sannio and Università del Piemonte Orientale, for State Capture and Public Integrity in Italian Local PA's: A Predictable Failure?, written with Elio Borgonovi's supervision. Esposito has recently joind CERGAS, where he studies health systems and corruption.
