From Private Equity to Bocconi, 26,000 euros in the Name of a Colleague and Friend

Fiftyeight members of the Private equity leisure club Old Foxes will name a room on the new campus in Claudio Sposito's memory. A thousand euros of the total will go to the purchase of library books on the topic of private equity

Twenty-six thousand euros to donate to Bocconi, one thousand of which are destined for the purchase of new books on private equity for the library. The sum comes from the Private equity leisure club Old Foxes, and was collected in memory of one of its members, Claudio Sposito. The fundraising initiative started from the founders of the club: Fabio Sattin, president of Private Equity Partners SGR and lecturer at Bocconi, alumni Luciano Balbo, Sergio Sambonet and Paolo Colonna. The goal: donate the amount collected to name after Claudio Sposito one of the rooms in the new SDA Bocconi building, under construction in the new campus area. Until completion of the building, one of the rooms of the library will be named for Sposito.

Fabio and his colleagues have been able to involve 58 members of the Old Foxes and have chosen to devote the sum to the University for one reason in particular: "Claudio was a very active member of our club. Private equity was his main business and his principal professional interest, "explains Fabio Sattin. "It therefore seemed natural to devolve the money to the institution which, in our opinion, represents excellence in the study of that subject." But even though Sposito was not a Bocconian, a strong bond united him to the University: "His wife, Manuela Del Castillo, is a Bocconi alum, and his son Tommaso has just started his own studies there," adds Sattin.
