PhD: Three Months for the Application

There's time until February 1st. Bocconi PhD School offers five programs and academia is not the only placement opportunity

Approximatelythree months are left to submit applications to the five Ph.D. programs offered by Bocconi's PhD School. The deadline for application is February 1st, 2013.

"What does a PhD Program at Bocconi offer? A solid reality in the international market, an effective and first-rate network, able to place our Ph.D. graduates in the most prestigious academic and non-academic Institutions". Strong and encouraging the words spoken by Alfonso Gambardella, Dean of the PhD School since 2008; words said in the aftermath of the renewal of his mandate, as decided by the new Rector Andrea Sironi, and in occasion of the recent opening of the application period.

In the academic year 2013-1014 there will be a maximum of 78 new admitted Ph.D. students; scholarships will be assigned according to the positioning of candidates in the admissionranking. Applications can be submitted by those who have completed or are completing their graduate studies, and have at least a B2 (CEFR) level of competence in English.
The placement of Bocconi's recent PhD graduates includes top tier universities in Europe (such as London School of Economics, HEC,Catolica Lisbon) and US (such as New York University, Harvard School of Public Health), but also international institutions like OECD and Max Planck Institute,European banks and ONGs.

"For a more stable work life in the future, to gain better perspectives, why not playing your cards right?", says Massimo Marinacci, Director of the PhD in Economics and Finance; and he adds: "A PhD does no longer favour just an academic career, but can open doors to national and international organizations as well, both in the publicand private sector. This is the reason why a PhD title, nowadays, is really helpful".

Five programs are offered, three of them last four years(Business Administration and Management, Economics and Finance, Statistics) and two last three years (International Law and Economics and Diritto dell'impresa).All the programs are held in English, except Diritto dell'Impresa, which is held in Italian.
