The second edition of Bocconi Snow Days, with giant slalom and snowboard competitions, scheduled for 10-11 December in Cervinia

Not much snow has fallen yet, but the second edition of Bocconi Snow Days is now upon us. The town of Cervinia will host the skiing and snowboarding competitions reserved for Università Bocconi students enrolled in the Bocconi Sport Team. The event will take place on 10-11 December and it will be a key moment for the club, dedicated entirely to sports and fun.

"The skiing competition will be one large race in just one round," says the captain of the ski team, Andrea Longhi, 22 years old, graduating from the Bachelor of Business Administration and Management. "It will probably be divided into men's and women's competitions, the same as the snowboarding race, but to get a clearer picture of the situation we'll have to wait to see the final list of who registers."

The skiing and snowboarding team is part of the "Other Sports" section of the Bocconi Sport Team and has been around for three years, numbering around 60 members. Some members are excellent athletes, as Longhi explains: "I was a ski instructor and I'm not the only one in our group who has held that job. Also, many of us have even skied at a competitive level."

The group's schedule for the 2010-2011 season is pretty full: "After the Bocconi Snow Days at Cervinia, the National University Skiing Championships will be held in February. Athletes from all over Europe, not just students from Italian universities, will be able to participate," says Longhi. "The competition is part of the Europe University Cup, organized by FIS, and to take part you need have a good position in the international rankings. At the end of March there will be another event at an international level organized by CUS Bolzano and, around March or April, there will be another edition of Bocconi Snow Days. But for the exact dates and locations of these events, we still need to wait because, like usual in skiing, a lot depends on the weather conditions."
