Mumbai, Applications Open to 3rd Edition of the Post Graduate Program in Business
After the positive reception of the first two editions, applications are currently underway for the 3rd edition of the Post Graduate Program in Business (PGPB), the flagship program of the Mumbai International School of Business (MISB Bocconi), opened by Bocconi last year through its business school, SDA Bocconi School of Management.
The program is designed to offer postgraduate education in business administration to Indian students, by merging an Indian background with a strongly international outlook. The curriculum is centered on international management, focusing on the Indian market and business in India, with courses held by faculty members from Bocconi, India and other parts of the world.
Applicants to the program must have an undergraduate degree, in any discipline, whilst previous work experience is not required but could be considered an asset. Applications are reviewed in various rounds with deadlines beginning on 9 December and running up to 27 June 2014. The program kicks off on 7 July. MISB Bocconi offers merit-based tution waivers to candidates with an outstanding profile.
"SDA Bocconi was on already my radar while I was hunting for a business school and when I discovered its presence in India, with the participation of its faculty and the chance of spending a semester in Milan, MISB Bocconi became an easy choice," says Gaurav Bhandari, currently in classroom in Mumbai with the class of the 2nd edition. "The best thing about the PGPB, which also differentiates it from other Indian programs, is the independence of the professors to choose their own syllabus and their ability, even through their own personal experiences, to also transmit the practical aspects of the subjects."
The first edition's class of students meanwhile are currently in Milan following the exchange semester module of the program, attending courses at the Bocconi Graduate School.
"The Mumbai branch is progressively consolidating its activity one and half years after its inauguration in July 2012. Not only is the PGPB program becoming visible in the Indian market but MISB Bocconi increasingly qualifies itself as a meeting point for the promotion of debate about economics in India. It is also a platform able to generate executive programs and to host modules of pre and post experience courses," comments Stefano Caselli, Bocconi Dean for International Affairs and MISB Bocconi's academic director.
Also active in executive education, in December MISB Bocconi will host 'Luxury & Retail program', one of the courses of SDA Bocconi's Channel & Retail Academy, developed with the key sponsorship of IBM. The program is aimed at Indian and international managers interested in understanding the local retail market and its opportunities.
