SDA Bocconi's MIHMEP will host an international conference about health systems in times of budget cuts

SDA Bocconi School of Management's Master of International Health Care Management, Economics and Policy (MIHMEP) is to host one of the highest visibility health care event ever to be held in Italy, the Sustaining and Implementing Universal Health Coverage conference, on February 10th 2012 (Aula Magna, via Roentgen 1, 8:30-17:45). The gathering is the result of the joint effort of MIHMEP faculty and CERGAS researchers.

The discussants will be high level academics and prominent figures from all parts of the globe and all areas of health care (among them, Nancy Kane, associate dean for educational programs, Harvard School of Public Health, and Mark Pearson, head of the Health Division, OECD), while a special parallel session will be reserved to papers presented by MIHMEP alumni, covering the four pillars of the programme: Global Health & Development; Health Care Management; Health Systems Planning & Governance; Pharmaceutical & Medical Technology.

"In this time of economic turmoil the topic of sustainable universal health coverage is at the centre of policy makers' thoughts all around the world", Rosanna Tarricone, MIHMEP director and organizer of the conference, says. "They ask themselves how to combine universal access and public budgets and the results of the discussion will have important medium- and long-term effects".
