Jam Session Time at Residenza Javotte: An Evening of Improvisation

, by Benedetta Ciotto
BSMA organized a jam session at the Residenza Javotte, an evening dedicated to musicians and musiclovers which ended with the desire to plan more

Music, improvisation and so much fun: it all came together yesterday at the jam session organized by BSMA –Bocconi Students Music Association at the Residenza Javotte. "A session of true improvisation where musicians met for the first time to show their musical flair" explains Gabriele D'Arrigo, president of the association. Yesterday evening, as normally happens during a jam session, after choosing some songs, musicians tried to put together voice and instruments: a moment of true improvisation. "The reason why we organize jams is to give musicians the chance to meet each other to express themselves and to make all music-lovers enjoy the moment with us", continues Gabriele. Arthur Khayat, a musician attending the third year of Cleam and who's participating in The Voice of France selections, organized the event bringing musicians and other interested people together in the Residenza Javotte.

What gave life to Bsma, a students' association founded in September 2014, is the passion for music. Its main activities are to spread information about the music market and its opportunities and to coordinate musical activities organized within Bocconi University. There are many events coming up on the program: for instance in November they are planning a cycle of concerts, called I'm in Live, where different combinations of instruments will join the Bocconi Choir to bring forth a series of exhibitions in the foyer of via Sarfatti.

Coming back to jam sessions, yesterday's one wasn't the first, and won't be the last one, either, "participants were really inspired: they even asked us to organize a jam every month and we will work to realize this wish", says the association's president.
