Isabel Schnabel at Bocconi to Discuss the Fight Against Inflation
Central banks around the world have increased interest rates rapidly and significantly over the past two years to tackle the sharp rise in inflation. Monetary policy is working, and disinflation is proceeding globally. Yet, tight labor markets and the risks of renewed supply chain disruptions amid recent geopolitical events caution against declaring victory too early.
The dynamics of inflation and implications for monetary policy in the Euro area will be discussed during the event, on 23 February at 10am, organized by the Baffi Center and the Institute for European Policymaking @Bocconi University (IEP@BU), with the keynote speech 'Has the fight against inflation been won?' from Isabel Schnabel, member of the Executive Board of the ECB.
