With his New Novel Giuseppe Panto' Is Ready for the Big Jump

Il Cerchio del Diavolo, third book form the Head of Bocconi's Corporate Image, Publications and Web service, has entered the BigJump contest. It's time to vote

«A perfect circle of six hundred sixty-six steps... The door to hell is ready.»

More or less, this is the beginning of the novel by Giuseppe Pantò, Head of the Bocconi Corporate Image, Publications and Web service, a journalist and a writer, who is now in his third novel with Il Cerchio del Diavolo. After three years of work aimed at the reconstruction of the historical context and at the drafting of the text, his book has finally landed in the digital version on Amazon. "I think that, in such a difficult period for the Italian publishing industry, self publishing is really a good opportunity to make yourself known and get in touch with your audience", Giuseppe says. Surely another good occasion is the BigJump contest, launched by Amazon together with Rizzoli and 20lines. The first selection is social: until March 16th everybody can vote on 20lines their favorite book among those which have joined the contest. The first 10 for each category (thriller, romance and historical novel) will be then assessed by Rizzoli, who will print the one considered the best work.

By now, l Cerchio del Diavolo is among the first 10 books of its category: we can only read this extract and decide if it deserves also our vote! A historical novel with fantasy and noir elements, the work starts from an event which actually took place in 1792 and then develops on different levels, lending itself to different interpretations. "A ferocious beast kills many children and terrorizes the countryside of the Duchy of Milan. Who or what is it? This book tells about a sort of treasure hunt that involves the two main characters; it tells about the political torments of the revolutionary and the republican era that were rising; it tells about the substantial fight between Good and Evil", Giuseppe tells.

A journalist since 1992, Giuseppe was born in Palermo in 1964 and landed in Bocconi 17 years ago to take care of the development of the University's publications and website. In 2001 he became the head of the Corporate Image, Publications and Web area. "Compared to then, the structure has grown a lot in terms of production and consulting and it has been enriched by other activities, such as the management of the corporate image and the students' web tv", he explains.

Future plans? "I would love to get into the bookshops soon with Il Cerchio del Diavolo and, why not, also with my other two novels. What is certain is that I will go on writing because it is what I love", says Giuseppe, who is already starting off writing a new noir novel.
