Four Study Fields for a Great Research Centre: the First CRIOS Conference
For a great research centre, a great conference. Strategy, organization, innovation and entrepreneurship are the study fields of CRIOS and Integrating Strategy, Organization, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research is the topic of the First CRIOS Conference (19 June 2013, Università Bocconi, Room N01, piazza Sraffa 13, 9:00 a.m.).
The conference is the public launch of CRIOS, the new Center for Research on Innovation, Organization and Strategy that, last January, merged KITeS (Knowledge, Internationalization and Technology Studies), CROMA (Center for Research in Organization and Management) and ENTER (Centre for Research on Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurs).
"With the establishment of CRIOS", Franco Malerba, president and ad-interim director of the centre, says, "academic authorities wanted to pool management, innovation and entrepreneurship knowledge in a Bocconi interdisciplinary centre with an international standing. We can already say that, for the quality of publications and people, it's in the top tier in Europe". Some sixty scholars, counting Bocconi professors and fellows, are affiliates of the centre.
The conference is organized around the four title-fields with the presentation of two papers each: one by an international scholar and one by a CRIOS researcher (with the exception of the entrepreneurship topic, with two CRIOS papers) and a final roundtable with senior CRIOS scholars and Sloan School of Management's Richard Locke.
