Five hundred corporate economists at Bocconi to discuss an ethical and responsible market
Can an economic system exist that acts with solidarity and responsibility toward the majority of people? That is the main question faced by the 33rd conference of the Accademia italiana di economia aziendale (Aidea) entitled "Public and Non-Profit companies for a responsible and ethical market." 52 papers will be presented, selected from over 200 submissions, and the highest regional and local authories will attend the plenary session.
Prof. Elio Borgonovi of Bocconi, President of the organizing committee explains,"The crisis has put the roles of public and non-profit companies into sharp relief. In this climate we need to get away from the traditional public-private dichotomy and think of innovative ways to make companies, public administrations and non-profts interact ."
The event will also see the awarding of the first Masini Award, to be assigned starting this year for 10 years to the most innovative paper on the topic of public and non-profit management. The 2010 prize of 2000 euros goes to two American scolars, Peter J. Robertson and Taehyon Choi.
