Finance Researchers for Six Months
Four six-month visiting student positions are available at the Centre for Applied Research in Finance (CAREFIN) for CLEFIN, DES and EES students interested in pursuing a research career. Eligible students are those who will begin the second year of their MSc in September 2014 or are writing their thesis with an expected graduation date of March 2015 or later.
Applications are to be submitted using the online application form available in CAREFIN's website, which includes a brief statement of purpose, by 18 September, 2014, 10 a.m.
"For MSc students who plan to work in research", CAREFIN's director Francesco Saita says, "an experience at an applied research center such as CAREFIN is a chance to learn and to check personal inclinations from the inside".
Visiting students are expected to actively participate in the Centre's workshops and seminars. Their research activity will be supervised by mentors chosen among the CAREFIN fellows.
"The Visiting Student Initiative is a step towards the integration between high-end education and research activity", Department of Finance's Massimo Guidolin says. "A share of our MSc students already write outstanding dissertations and the visiting students program will allow the most talented of them to translate their good intuitions into valuable applied research in finance".
