Eleonora's Racewalking is Golden

Eleonora Anna Giorgi (photo from FIDAL), a student enrolled in the Master of Science program in Economics and Management of Public Administration and International Institutions at Bocconi, won the gold medal for the 20km racewalking event at the Mediterranean Games held in Mersin, Turkey. The Italian athlete, who competes with the Fiamme Azzurre and who only started practicing the sport in 2007, also participated in the Olympic Games in London, placing 14th in the 20km competition.

At the Mediterranean Games, dealing with summer heat and humidity, she surpassed Spanish competitor Gonzalez Campos and the Greek athlete Drisbioti. Last May, Eleonora placed sixth in the European Cup in Dudince, Slovakia and was the top-ranking Italian competitor in the race.
