Eleonora Giorgi Is Flagbearer at University Championships

The student at Bocconi, new Italian record holder in the 20 km race walk, will represent the University and CUS Milano at this high-level event. The inauguration is planned for 16 May, and will take place right here on campus

Eleonora Giorgi, a student in the Master in Economics and Management of Public Administrations and International Institutions at Bocconi, will carry the flag as representative of Cus Milan in the opening ceremony of the National University Championships scheduled for 16 to 25 May in Milan.

Eleanora, who in the recent World Cup race in Shanghai came in fifth and set a new Italian record in the 20 km race walk, won the gold medal in June 2013 at the Mediterranean Games, then placed tenth in the subsequent World Championships in Moscow. In 2012, Eleanor came in fourteenth in the London Olympics. In Milan, on the occasion of the NUC, Eleonora Giorgi will take part in the 5km race walk scheduled for Saturday, 24 May on the track of the Gianni Brera Civic Arena.

The inauguration ceremony of the National University Championships, the most important event in university sports competition at the national level, will be held 16 May, at 6:30pm, in the Aula Magna of the University .
