Economy and Society, the Perfect Blend in a Bocconi Project
As part of the Community and Social Engagement endeavor, which aims to emphasize social responsibility issues within the Bocconi community, Making Sense of Profits returns for the third consecutive year. It will be presented Thursday, 27 February at 6pm, in room N03. Giorgio Fiorentini, professor of economics and public administration at Bocconi and head of the initiative says , " Making Sense of Profits this year will allow 90 students from all undergraduate courses to participate in a business plan inside one of the participating companies with high social content. They will be divided into small groups of about three students and supported by tutors provided by the University."
To join the project students will have to fill out an online form by 9 March, and jobs will be assigned in April. Work will be carried out between May and September, and the best projects to be recognized at the CSR and Social Innovation event, scheduled at Bocconi University for 7-8 October. "In addition to selection based on applications and resumes," says Fiorentini , " individual interviews will be held with the candidates to see what motivates them. The main purpose of this initiative is to break the contradiction between the social and economic fields and to understand that it is possible to integrate these two aspects, and achieve a snowball effect with respect to the real resources applied. The concept of social enterprise should be more widespread within for-profit companies. "
