Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne Wins the Rolex MBA's Conference & Regatta
Showers and irregular winds from 4 to 6 knots: those were the challenging conditions that characterized the final day of the Rolex MBA's Conference & Regatta, held in the seas near Santa Margherita Ligure from 27 to 30 September.
After two days of races, the match race, a regatta in which the boats face each other one-to-one, resulted in victory for the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in the 2013 edition.
The other crews that faced off in the match race were: Manchester Business School (GB) in second place, Tuck School of Business (USA) third and SDA Bocconi fourth.
For the Rolex MBA's Conference & Regatta 2013, organized by the Sailing Club of SDA Bocconi with the Yacht Club Italiano and the partnership of Rolex, over 350 students participated, representing 70 different nationalities and coming from 23 business schools in 11 countries.
Aboard boats of a single type, each with an 8-man crew, two divisions were in play: division A for the competitive races among students currently enrolled in an MBA program, and division B, for pleasure, reserved for the 23 boats bearing only alumni of past MBA classes.
The division B final was won by Zhair, sailed by a mixed crew, followed by Enigma and Namastè, both manned by SDA Bocconi alumni.
