Donating is Fashionable
In these days at the Velodromo building, in the Campus Life area, a big box has appeared surrounded by students in white sweatshirts and approached by other students with bags full of clothes. The sweatshirts are those of the student association Bocconi students for fashion which have organized a clothes collection to donate to charity.
The clothes collected, thanks to the collaboration with another association, Students for humanity, will be donated to Caritas and to Humana Onlus, which will then in part distribute them to those in need and in part sell them to a second-hand market, with the income then financing their charity projects.
"This is the first time we have organized a charity event. Generally we deal with finance and management aspects of fashion and luxury, but we also feel it is important to make students aware about charity. For us to be 'cool' you also need to be good. Donating helps others but also enriches you personally," explain students Andrea Grondona and Giovanni Germinara, co-founders of the association. "We hope to gather many items of clothing. To spread the word about the collection we have also made a video together with BstudentsTv. And for those with too many things to carry by hand we can help with transport."
The association was set up a year and half ago and this year has stepped up its activities – organizing events and conferences such as the one last week with CReSV Bocconi and Generalfinance on "Made in Italy e M&A". "In May we have many events planned – including a conference with Dior Parfums and one on Asian markets together with the CSA (Bocconi Chinese students association)" explains Andrea.
