Discover Your Talent at Bocconi
Lessons in economics, finance, statistic and law. At a university which awards degrees in Economics and Law and it's an everyday occurance to see students taking these kinds of classes. What's new is that for the next two weeks students who just finished their second-to-last year of secondary school are in Bocconi classrooms.
Bocconi has opened its doors for the seventh edition of the Discover Your Talent Program, a week of university culture and orientatio where high school students are given the chance to try out economic and law subjects first-hand by taking lessons with Bocconi Faculty and participating in group activities. 231 students, 69% women and 31% men, will participate in the first week of the program, which runs from 15 to 19 June. 36% of students attend a scientific secondary schools, 32% classic liceo and a good portion - 22% - are from technical institutes. They come from all over Italy, including 28 students from the Piedmont region, 22 from Sicily and 16 from Lombardy. This week's lessons will be held in Italian. Next week, however, the campus will host 70 international students from countries as various as Germany, Slovenia, the USA and France. The international students will attend classes held in English.
Students are selected to participate in these activities according to the school they attend and a submitted CV and cover letter. The university Recruitment Office must go through the applications and select the students that meet the requirements.
Regardless of their study choices, the most important thing for these students will be the possibility to learn something new and get involved in working with classmates they have just met. And for those students interested in Bocconi for next year, there is also the opportunity to take the university selection test while on campus.
