Director General of UNESCO Inaugurates the Third MAMA

At the opening ceremony of the third edition of SDA Bocconi's Master in Arts Management and Administration (MAMA), Irina Bokova, UNESCO DirectorGeneral, will tell students about her two mandates

Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, who's almost at the end of her second mandate, will inaugurate the third edition of the Master in Arts Management and Administration (MAMA) on September 29 at 12.15pm at the aula Magna of via Roentgen 1. The event, free upon online registration, will be attended by Rector Gianmario Verona, Chief Executive Officer Bruno Pavesi and the Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities of Italy, Ilaria Borletti Buitoni. "UNESCO represents a reference point for those who want to study management of cultural assets," says Andrea Rurale, director of MAMA, who will close the debate talking about cultural management as a critical tool to unite arts, market and society. "Having her as a guest will be an important opportunity to discuss her two mandates, what she has achieved and what can be still be done to realize the Organization's goals."

An inauguration marking a program inspired by Italy's cultural heritage, but which is at the same time increasingly international: "Of the 37 students enrolled, 80% come from all around the world representing 22 different countries," continues Rurale. "This is a great success for the School and it shows how leveraging on the management competencies of SDA Bocconi and the unique cultural assets of our country - Italy is the country with the highest number of UNESCO sites - is an opportunity not to be missed".

The event will be held in collaboration with the Municipality of Cremona, the Fondazione W. Stauffer F and with the friends of Stradivari and will close with the violin performance of Giuseppe Gibboni, student of the foundation.
