This year too, while the activity in the campus in Milan dies down, a numerous delegation of the Bocconi faculty will be attending the annual Academy of Management Meeting, which this year will be held in Montréal from August 6 to 10 with the conference theme 'Dare to care: Passion and compassion in management practice and research'. Around 35 Bocconi professors and affiliates are authors of papers which will be presented at the meeting whilst other faculty members will participate, along with the other 8,650 participants, in seminars, workshops and panels.

Founded in 1936, the Academy of Management is the oldest and largest scholarly management association in the world and today gathers 19,370 members from 105 nations. The meeting this year will focus in particular on the attention corporations and their managers should pay to all their stakeholders and on how management researchers need to consider whether their research and knowledge contributes to the wellbeing of the larger society.

In parallel to the meeting will be held the international job market for management where Bocconi will participate with 4 of its PhD candidates who will present their work and be interviewed by other universities. Bocconi itself will interview around 20 candidates for some assistant professor positions in its Department of Management.

The Bocconi professors and affiliates whose papers will be presented at the meeting are Manuela Brusoni, Stefano Brusoni, Eugenia Cacciatori, Arnaldo Camuffo, Francesco Castellaneta, Fabrizio Castellucci, Magdalena Cholakova, Raffaele Conti, Guido Corbetta, Elena Dalpiaz, Giada Di Stefano, Alfonso Gambardella, Andrea Lanza, Myriam Mariani, Alessandro Minichilli, Mario Minoja, Nicola Misani, Elena Novelli, Andrea Ordanini, Giovanna Padula, Fabrizio Perretti, Francesco Perrini, Davide Ravasi, Carlo Salvato, Barbara Slavich, Giuseppe Soda, Giovanni Valentini, Veronica Vecchi, Gianmario Verona, Clodia Vurro, Alessandro Zattoni, Maurizio Zollo and Fabio Zona.

On August 8th will be held a reception organised by Bocconi's Department of Management and the Research Division of SDA with the presence of about 300 participants. Also on August 8th will be awarded the first Carlo Masini Award, promoted and financed by Bocconi's Department of Institutional Analysis and Public Management, to the best and most innovative paper presented to the Public and Non ProfitManagement Division of the meeting. Instituted in memory of Carlo Masini, professor emeritus at Bocconi, the prize will be awarded by an international committee including Bocconi professor Elio Borgonovi.
