An online conference on October 16 organized by the Bocconi Library with Hertie School Library, in collaboration with the CIVICA alliance, as part of Open Access Week 2025

As AI tools become more sophisticated in searching, analyzing, and generating scholarly content, they bring new opportunities—but also raise complex legal and ethical questions. And the evolving relationship between Open Access, copyright, and the growing influence of AI on scholarly communication will be at the centre of the discussion of the online conference on October 16 organized by the Bocconi Library with Hertie School Library, in collaboration with the CIVICA alliance, as part of Open Access Week 2025.

The workshop 'Open Access & Copyright in the Age of AI'  will explore the legal and practical challenges of opening research in an AI-driven world, highlighting how AI is transforming scholarly publishing practices, with a focus on access to literature, copyright compliance in AI training, and sustainable, forward-thinking solutions that support both academic integrity and technological innovation.
