Concerts at Bocconi: Pianist Danilo Rea Kicks off the Season

The musical season in Bocconi starts off with a note of jazz organized by ISU Bocconi in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti: on the stage of the Aula Magna in via Gobbi 5 will be jazz pianist Danilo Rea (Thursday 13 October). He opens a saeson tha will bring 11 musicians for 11 concerts from now until 19 April 2012 . As always the shows are open to the public and free as long as seats last.
For this date Danilo Rea plans an "operatic" jazz piano. Rea, who debuted in 1975 with the Trio di Roma (Enzo Pietropaoli and Roberto Gatto), has played with many great American solists, like Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, John Scofield and Joe Lovano. In 1989 he worked with Roberto De Simone, on Requiem per Pier Paolo Pasolini, the same year he released a record with Roberto Gatto, Improvvisi.

In 1997 with bassist Enzo Pietropaoli and drummer Fabrizio Sferra, he started Doctor 3, jazz trio that has been playing Italy's top jazz venues since then. The CD The Tales of Doctor 3 was named best Italian jazz disc in1998, and the following CD The songs remain the same won best jazz disc from Musica&Dischi magazine in 1999.
