Bocconi Startup Day, a Day for Discussions, Awards and Bringing Innovators Together
The goal is to promote youth entrepreneurship and innovation by startups. And the exact date for doing so is on November 24. That, indeed, is the date of the first Bocconi Startup Day, an initiative created with the intent to study and promote innovative companies that are entering the marketplace and reward those that are already showing strong results. Bocconi Startup Day will roll out in three moments: a conference, the presentation of the Bocconi Startup Day Award and a marketplace behind closed doors, in which 35 selected startups, after passing the last two months at an ad hoc training course, will be able to meet potential investors.
Startup Day is organized by Bocconi in partnership with Citi Foundation and in collaboration with Speed ​​Mi Up, the support of SDA Bocconi School of Management, Bocconi Alumni Association and Economics & Management and the media partnership of Corriere Innovazione.
The conference. The first of the three workshops is the 'Think and discuss' at 9:30 in the Aula Magna Via Röntgen 1. It discusses entrepreneurship, innovation and startups with, among others, Paul Ainio (Founder and President, Banzai ), Fausto Boni (General Partner, 360 Capital Partners), Alberto Cribiore (Vice Chairman Institutional Clients, Citi), Andrea Guerra (Executive Chairman, Eataly), Massimiliano Magrini (Managing Partner, United Ventures), Marius Swart (Director Innovation and globlal Entrepreneurship, Coca-Cola).
The Bocconi Startup Day Award. The award is a recognition for the startup incorporated in Italy which, although still in the early stages of their business, have already achieved significant results. Eleven finalists selected by an international jury that compete in three different categories.

Available for the winning companies (for one of the members) is participation in one of the Master programs at SDA Bocconi, the preparation of a case study on the best startup by SDA Bocconi and cash awards.
The Marketplace. The third and last part of the day is reserved for the direct comparison between the 35 startups selected, all related to the Bocconi community (because they were created by Bocconi students or alumni or because they come from the incubator Speed Mi ​​Up), and more than thirty potential lenders who joined.

Many business angels and general partners of private equity firms will also be there in a personal capacity.
The startuppers, each with its own desk, will come face to face with investors and will have a few minutes to present their business plan to impress those who could give a boost to their company.
