The Bocconi Games
On Wednesday and Thursday 23-24 May will be the seventh edition of a traditional Bocconi event. On campus there will be Bocconi Sport Days, the sporting event held by the Bocconi Sport Team which involves hundreds of Università Bocconi and SDA students each year (and which also welcomes the participation of faculty and staff) for 3-on-3 mixed soccer, basketball and volleyball tournaments, in addition to ping pong tournaments. There is fun for everyone involved, as well as fun competition for anyone participating in the competitive athletic teams that are part of the Bocconi Sport Team, which participate in various federal championships.
"During last year's edition," explains Presdient of the Sport Team, Alessandro Ciarlo, "around 400 athletes participated in the various tournaments, and many other students also took part in the various side activities, which will be available this year as well. These activities include chess, board games, foosball, as well as lacrosse demonstrations by the University team that has recently won the Italian championship, and cheerleading."
The Bocconi Sport Team continues to grow, with around 1,000 members and competitive activities that are improving each year: "We currently have 170 athletes on ours teams, participating in the various federal championships. The number of participants reaches 300 if you include those people participating in university events," says Ciarlo. "A large number of other members participate in the various internal events that we organize, such as the Sport Days, the Bocconi Run, 5-a-side soccer tournaments and squash tournaments."
The ASD Bocconi Sport Team, which promotes and coordinates sporting activities at Università Bocconi, is currently involved in the following sports: track and field, men's 5-a-side and 11-a-side soccer, women's 7-a-side and 11-a-side soccer, cycling, golf, judo, lacrosse, swimming and water polo, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's volleyball, rugby, skiing and snowboarding, squash, tennis, skeet shooting and sailing.
The event will be held with the contribution of Deloitte and the patronage of the City of Milan, the Province of Milan and the Region of Lombardy.
