Bocconi and St. Gallen Students Want to Grow Together
Thirty students of Bocconi's MSc in Marketing Management and thirty University of St. Gallen Marketing students will attend a two-day workshop, named Marketing Capitals Conference, on 8 and 9 May in Milan. Four companies will present their missions and their histories, highlighting the personal features needed in order to work in a marketing division. Bocconi invited Pirelli and L'Oreal, St. Gallen invited IWC and ZAI.
In the first part of the workshop companies will present themselves and each of them will deal with one of the four Marketing "Ps" (product, promotion, price, place). The students will then develop group works and present them to the managers, who will give a feedback on their strengths and weaknesses and will advise the students about the best approach to the sector.
Led by Stefania Borghini (director of the MSc in Marketing Management) the students managed the organization of the event. Lucrezia Contegiacomo, Piefrancesco Leo (II year) and Marco Vitelli (I year) suggested the idea and founded the new student association Bocconi Marketing Society with the purpose to network with other European student marketing associations. The students who will attend the workshop have been selected using resumes, motivational letters and interviews. Twenty-seven MSc students and three Bachelor students made it.
A second edition of the event is planned for next year with a change: Bocconi students will go to St. Gallen for the 2015 workshop.
