Blues for Haiti: A night of music and photography at Bocconi

A jazz concert with several songwriters along with photography sales on behalf of "Francisville – The city of trades" to support Haiti with the Francesca Rava – NPH Italia Onlus Foundation, Wednesday 17 March, 8:30pm, Bocconi Aula Magna, Via Roentgen 1

A night of music at Bocconi is scheduled to help Haiti today and help the country help itself in the future. Songwriters Alex Britti, Giorgio Conte, Eugenio Finardi, Andrea Mingardi and Antonella Ruggiero, harmonica player Fabio Treves, pianists Enrico Intra, Paolo Alderighi, Massimo Colombo, Gaetano Liguori and Mario Rusca, guitar players Franco Cerri, Peo Alfonsi and Bebo Ferra, clarinetists Gabriele Mirabassi and Paolo Tomelleri, drummers Stefano Bagnoli and Tony Arco, saxophonists Tino Tracanna and Riccardo Luppi, trumpet player Emilio Soana, bass players Paolino Dalla Porta, Lucio Terzano, Marco Vaggi and Attilio Zanchi, the BJBU and the soprano Karin Schmidt, make up a total of 30 internationally-renowned musicians who will be on stage at Blues for Haiti on Wednesday 17 March at 8:30pm, in the Università Bocconi Aula Magna (Via Roentgen 1). It will be a night of music and solidarity that will end with a jam session where the entire cast of Blues for Haiti will perform together.

Proceeds of the concert will go to the Francisville Project – The city of trades, part of the Francesco Rava Foundation – NPH Italia Onlus, a project that is already aiding thousands of children in Haiti and guarantees their futures through professional training, transfer of knowledge, creating jobs, producing goods and essential services.

"Università Bocconi has decided to embrace this project because it aims to educate the generations which may, thanks to study and hard work, contribute to the reconstruction of their country," explains Guido tabelloni, Bocconi Rector.

Tickets are available at www.ticketone.it with prices ranging from 25 to 90 euros. The concert will also be broadcast in streaming on the www.unibocconi.it website with the possibility of contributing to Francisville online. With 10 euros, a brick can be donated.

Throughout the evening (free admission from 7pm to midnight), the Museum of Contemporary Photography will contribute to the Francisville Project with pieces on display in the foyer of the Aula Magna from 80 important Italian artists including: Luca Andreoni, Marina Ballo Charmet, Gabriele Basilico, Cesare Colombo, Mario Cresci, Paola De Pietri, Paola Di Bello, Vittore Fossati, Moreno Gentili, Luigi Gariglio, Guido Guidi, Francesco Jodice, Mimmo Jodice, Silvia Lelli and Roberto Masotti, Uliano Lucas, Paola Mattioli, Maurizio Montagna, Toni Nicolini, Francesco Radino, Moira Ricci, Ferdinando Scianna, Luciano Soave, and Alessandra Spranzi.

The Museum of Contemporary Photography will also produce several prints of pieces from its collections of Mario Cattaneo and Enzo Nocera in Digigraphie. A special printing of works by Federico Patellani will also be produced.
