#BAGmi: A Chance to See Your Picture Next to Great Works of Art

, by Benedetta Ciotto
A photo contest invites the entire Bocconi community to make a photographic comment on the binomial concept of art/Milan. The best photos will be on display starting 13 November at Bag. Deadline for entries is 30 October

A camera, a passion for art, a dash of creativity and all of Milan to find inspiration. These are the characteristics of #BAGmi, the second edition of the photo contest launched for the seventh Bocconi Art Gallery, an initiative dedicated to contemporary art to be held on 13 November at Bocconi University. The photographers will provide their pictorial take (to be submitted by noon on 30 October) on the idea of Art-Milan, a wide-ranging topic that leaves room for creativity. The winners of the first edition were a Bocconi staff member, Daniela Ligurgo (in the above photo), who received the first prize, and two students, Andrea Luigi Brambilla and Massimiliano Minorati (respectively second and third prize).

It includes everything from the town's most famous architectural masterpieces caught in original lights and angles to the details of individual works. Or the outside of a museum as the home of art, or the artist in person giving form to a new creation. Perhaps a musician who performs on the streets of Milan, or tourists admiring artworks in the city. And on it goes. The entire Bocconi community is invited to have fun with it: students, alumni, faculty and staff members. The shots that stand out for quality and creativity will be exhibited alongside great works of contemporary art during the evening of the Bocconi Art Gallery opening.

#BAGmi is not only a photo contest, but it is also one of many initiatives that demonstrate the importance the University attaches to art and any expressive language, encouraging all members of the Bocconi community to play an active part.

The photos must be sent in high resolution (300 dpi). For registration and regulations: www.unibocconi.it/bagmi
