Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini, Undersecretary of Labor Luigi Bobba and former Minister of Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino are among the protagonists of B4Gov, the Bocconi for Government Week 2017 to be held from Monday, 20 February, to Friday, 24 February.

"Bocconi University devotes a week to the topic of public policies every year", explains Valentina Mele, Director of the MSc in Economics and Management of Government and International Organizations. "Part of the week is for a large audience, part reserved for the students of what we can define an educational chain which includes the Bachelor of Science in International Politics and Government, the MSc in Economics and Management of Government and International Organizations, the Master of Public Administration, the Executive Master in Management of International Organizations, and the PhD in Public Policy and Administration".

The focal day of the week will be Thursday, 23 February, with a debate on The Age of Uncertainty featuring former Minister of Foreign Affairs Emma Bonino and ISPI (Italian Institute for International Political Studies) Director, Paolo Magri, who will sift through the geopolitics of the last few months, trying to understand why the trust in our capacity to forecast international outcomes has been suffering such hard blows as of late. The event will be followed by an Informal Talk with Dario Franceschini (in Italian with simultaneous translation) with Andrea Rurale (Director of SDA Bocconi's Master in Arts Management and Administration) and Alex Turrini (Director of the MSc in Economics and Management of Arts, Culture, Media and Entertainment) interviewing the Minister.

Undersecretary of Labor Luigi Bobba will be one of the speakers at Unequal Cities: The Challenge of the Outskirts and Their Management (Tuesday, 21 February, in Italian), an event organized by student association NextPA in the frame of B4Gov. "The cooperation with the students is something we are proud of", Mele says. "Other associations that are participating in this edition's organization are Aleph and European Generation".

During the week will be unveiled the results of Bocconi researchers' studies on the selection of public managers in nine European countries (on Monday, 20 February, in a reserved event), on innovation in private health insurance (on Tuesday, 21 February, in Italian) and on talent attraction, management and motivation in public administrations (on Thursday, 23 February, in Italian).

The program of the week is rounded off by a number of open lessons on topics related to public policies, debates on hot topics and two presentations of career opportunities in international organizations, with representatives of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Space Agency.
