Five Bocconi scholars and a graduate student were the recipients of two Best Paper Awards (for the management and marketing research tracks) at AIMAC 2013, the XII Conference on Arts and Cultural Management (Bogotà, Colombia, June 26-29, 2013).

ASK Centre's Paola Dubini, Giulia Cancellieri and Ilaria Morganti obtained the Best Paper Award for management with Innovating within Tradition: The Case of Italian Opera, a paper which investigates how tradition affects new product development strategies, testing the hypotheses using data about 30 Italian opera houses between 2006 and 2010.

Department of Marketing's Maria Carmela Ostilio and Antonella Carù, along with a graduate student in Marketing management, Giuseppe Leone, won the award for marketing thanks to Corporate Museum as a Pillar for Brand Authenticity in Luxury Companies. The Case of Salvatore Ferragamo. The paper analyses corporate museums as tools of authentication, in an environment which prizes authenticity and historical heritage as positive features of a corporate brand.

The awards confirm the international appreciation enjoyed by Bocconi scholars in the field of arts and cultural management and even improve the result of the XI AIMAC Conference, in Atwerp, where Barbara Slavich, Rossella Cappetta and Severino Salvemini obtained the Best Paper Award in management with their Can Italian Haute Cuisine Become a Real Industry? Some Lessons from the near-by Cultural Industries.
