Accounting for Public Sector Reforms in Times of Crisis
Performance measurement and fiscal crisis are the topics most frequently chosen by the 99 scholars who are going to present their papers at EIASM's 7th International Conference on Accounting, Auditing & Management in Public Sector Reforms (Università Bocconi, September 4-6, 2012), organized by The European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) in collaboration with Università Bocconi and Politecnico di Milano.
"Performance measurement and fiscal crisis are someway related", Ileana Steccolini (Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management), a member of the Organizing Committee, says, "because the results of performance measurement should be a base for the always-scarcer resource allocation when the fiscal crisis imposes cuts".
The conference records 140 registered scholars from Europe and the rest of the world (Asia, Africa, South America and Commonwealth countries included). Barbara Czarniawska (Göteborg University), Maurizio Orefice (Italian Court of Auditors), Giovanni Azzone (Politecnico Milano) and Elio Borgonovi (Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management) will be the keynote speakers.
EIASM, according to its own website, is "an international network for management research and teaching that includes more than 40,000 management scientists from all over the world".
