55,000 Euros Raised for Haiti with Music and Photography
In the end there were four hours of music and 55,000 euros donated last evening in Bocconi's Aula Magna at Blues for Haiti, Jazz, Songwriters and Photography, a charity event to support Francisville, the City of Trades that the Francesca Rava – NPH Italia Foundation promotes on the Caribbean island.
If the emotional center of the evening was the conversation with Father Rick, the American priest who coordinates this secular initiative in Haiti, the audience was excited about the performance of the big names in jazz and Italian songwriters throughout the evening.
Alternating rhythms and styles keeping the audience energized, more than forty musicians performed on stage, while, in an initiative with the Museum of Contemporary Photography, ninety photographers put their work on sale, with all proceeds going to the cause.
One of the best moments of the evening was a test of the new Aula Magna's acoustics when faced with the high decibels from Andrea Mingardi and Eugenio Finardi's band, while the jazz performances confirmed it. In addition, the structure adapted itself perfectly to the needs of a huge number of performers, thanks to the multifunctionality of the spaces near the stage.
During her speech, Maria Vittoria Rava, the President of the Foundation which is dedicated to her sister, warmly thanked the entire Bocconi community and all attendees.
