5-a-Side Soccer Tournament in Memory of Ivo Grandis

For everyone he was a colleague, for many he was also a friend with shared passions. One of those passions was soccer, a sport he loved both as a fan (of AC Milan) and as a player. To remember Ivo Grandis, who passed away in 2024, Bocconi Sport has decided to organize the first edition of the "Ivo Grandis Memorial", a 5-a-side soccer tournament for university staff. It will be held on Wednesday 2 July starting at 6pm at the Bocconi Sport Center Arena, Viale Toscana 30. The tournament will pit the staff teams of some of Milan's leading universities against each other: Bocconi, Politecnico, IULM, Bicocca and Statale. 

"With the input of several colleagues, we came up with an event in memory of Ivo Grandis, held about six months after his untimely and tragic passing," says Roberto Grassi, Academic Services and Sport & Wellness Director at Bocconi. "We would like to remember with fondness and appreciation the kindness, professionalism and humanity he showed in the many years he dedicated to our University. It was natural to think of a soccer tournament at Bocconi, organized as an opportunity for the staff of the major universities in the city of Milan to come together. We are certain that Ivo will be cheering on the Bocconi team with us!"
