Opening of the Bocconi Sport Center

The new Bocconi Sport Center is an innovative, versatile and eco-sustainable environment for individual and team sports. It is the fulcrum of social sporting life of our University that and will host all the activities of the Bocconi Sport association.
The Sport Center is composed of four floors, in addition to the ground floor which houses the reception.
Floor -1: swimming pool area (managed in collaboration with business partner Aquamore), equipped with an Olympic 50-meter pool and a 25-meter swimming pool.
1st floor: home to the fitness area (managed in collaboration with business partner Virgin Active), it is equipped with the latest equipment for cardio and functional training, training rooms and wellness areas.
2nd floor: houses the Team Sports Arena, equipped with regulation-sized areas for team sports, including basketball and volleyball courts, and a 5-a-side soccer field.
3rd and last floor: the running track (managed in collaboration with Virgin Active), a suspended ring about 220 meter-long, for sprinting and jogging, directly connected to the fitness area overlooking the fields and courts of the Team Sports Arena.
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Saturday 18 September from 11:30 am and will open with a performance by Le Farfalle (Butterflies), the Italian women’s rhythmic gymnastics team that just won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. It will see the participation of Italian authorities such as Giovanni Malagò (president of Italian Olympic Committee), Luca Pancalli (President of the Italian Paralympic Committee), Giuseppe Sala (Mayor of Milan) and Valentina Vezzali (Undersecretary for Sports).
The ceremony, due to anti-Covid regulations, can only accommodate a very limited number of guests. Therefore, it will be made available in live streaming on the home page of the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper and on the Bocconi website.
The two-day inauguration will then continue with performances on Saturday and Sunday in the new park on campus by the Freestyle Da Move group, Bocconi student teams, and activities organized by Virgin Active and Aquamore, which manage the fitness center and swimming pool, respectively, in collaboration with Bocconi.
In compliance with anti-Covid regulations, it is possible to visit the Bocconi Sport Center only in guided tours, after presenting a Green Pass and while wearing a face mask. Groups are up to 10 people, and are scheduled regularly on Saturday from 3 pm to 7 pm and on Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
