Welcome in Bocconi! 4 ways to get the most out of the Library
Here are four practical tips to help you get started:
1. Explore the Library: take a tour
The Bocconi Library welcomes you with a variety of spaces designed to meet different study needs, shelves featuring curated collections, and exhibitions to explore. If you'd like to better orient yourself, you can request a guided tour with our staff.
The Library is open Monday to Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. to midnight. You can always check the most up-to-date opening hours on the dedicated webpage.
2. Get to know the Library website
Learning how to search for information is one of the most valuable skills you'll develop at university. Whether you're working on an essay, a presentation, or a group project, relying on Google or AI tools can be limiting — and sometimes risky. Why not start with a curated selection of reliable academic sources? That’s exactly what the Library website offers.
Right at the center of the homepage, you’ll find a search bar that gives you access to books, e-books, articles, theses, databases, and other online resources made available by the University.
A great place to start with are LibGuides – thematic guides created by Library staff to help you navigate key topics. For example:
- Freshers, for an overview of the main services available to new students
- Course reserves, your go-to guide for quickly finding your courses' reading lists
And there’s so much more: the Library website is a tool designed to support you every step of the way. Explore it now!
3. Attend a Library workshop!
The Library organises workshops to present resources and databases and to support you with citations and bibliography for your written texts. Here are the upcoming workshops:
-
Discover the Library! -> to discover all the tools available for your courses, assignments and exams! At the end of this workshop, you will know where to find all the resources and data you need and get the most out of the Library.

4. Know where to get help
The Library staff is always here to help. Here’s how you can get in touch with us:
- Visit the Information Desk, located at the center of the Library
- Contact us via email or through B in Touch
- Book a one-on-one meeting for more complex questions or specific needs
Don’t forget: Booking your study place is always mandatory, and silence must be respected in all Library areas. You can find the full Rules for utilizing study seats in your yoU@B Agenda — make sure to read and subscribe to them.
Enjoy your start, and see you at the Library!
