Erick Baumgartner

I am an applied microeconomist working in labor economics, development economics and political economy. My research asks how the effects of public policies and new technologies depend on the institutions, social networks and markets they are implemented in. My job market paper studies generative AI in the courts: how lawyers' adoption changes what they file, and how that spills over onto the judges who must process it. I will be on the job market in AY 2026-2027.
